General Secretary of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Lawyer Kwadwo Owusu-Afriyie, affectionately called Sir John has said that the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) ticket for the December 7, 2012 polls brings nothing new to the people of Ghana hence is sure of massive victory for his party's ticket comprising Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.

In the process, Sir John has described the NDC ticket of President John Dramani Mahama and his running mate; Paa Kwesi Bekoe Amissah-Arthur who couples as the Vice President of the Republic as an emblem of corruption and extreme disappointment and failure.

According to the NPP General Secretary, the two only bring to bare incompetency, ineptitude, inefficiency that would lead to high cost of living, increase in prices of commodities, further depreciation of the Cedi and subsequently, abject poverty.

Speaking to Okay FM on Wednesday morning to comment on President Mahama and the NDC's choice of running mate in the person of the former governor of the Bank of Ghana and now Vice President, Sir John stated that “these are the two people who have run down the economy of Ghana to the point that we are witnessing today.

The two have nothing new to offer the good people of Ghana because their records give no hope. In my view, what I believe is that they have to render vivid account of their stewardship during their time as the leaders of the Economic Management Team beginning January, 2009.”

He further stated that President John Dramani Mahama has sacked many people from the NDC due to some unfortunate utterances he has been making since his assumption as Commander In-Chief of the Ghana Armed Forces.

“How can you say that you are the luckiest Vice President in the world just because you have become President through the unfortunate instance of the demise of Professor John Evans Atta Mills? He even went ahead to say that the death of his former boss is a blessing for the NDC in disguise since it has presented them an opportunity to make him the leader and flag bearer of the ruling party.

The President has also said that the chances of the NDC are brighter with him than the late President because he is younger, more energetic and affable and has labeled himself as “Ahobrasiehene” just after the death of Professor J.E.A Mills. How is this possible?”

He continued, “It is even sad to mention Amissah-Arthur he has failed tremendously as a Minister for Finance and as a Governor of the Bank of Ghana. Traders are not making meaningful profit from their trades because the value of the Cedi has almost become insignificant against the major trading currencies, the prices of commodities keep increasing by the day and it's all the doing of Paa Kwesi Amissah-Arthur”.

Sir John bemoaned the high level of corruption under this administration and the amount of illegal judgment debt that have been paid to people who do not deserve them under the watch of John Dramani Mahama as the Chairman of the Economic Management Team with his running mate Amissah-Arthur being a member.

He spoke bitterly about the fact that for the first time in the history of the country, the is an association of Unemployed Graduates and suggested that the only antidote to this canker is by voting the NDC out of power and bringing in a more responsible, committed and visionary leader in the person of Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for the total transformation and liberation of our motherland Ghana.
