Soldiers pass out after training course

Accra, Dec. 20, GNA - Three hundred and ninety-three soldiers on Thursday successfully passed out after a six-month Basic Infantry Training course at the Army Recruit Training School, Accra The soldiers were taken through drills, physical training, minor tactic, military law, weapon handling and marksmanship. Brigadier General Anthony Amedoh, Director General of Training, charged the new recruits to rise beyond personal considerations, put Ghana first and remained loyal to the constitution. He cautioned them to desist from private debt collection, the guarding of lands or settlements in dispute without being officially authorised.

Amedoh urged the soldiers to be disciplined and prove to their civilian counterparts that they had undergone military training and acquired discipline which should be emulated. The overall Best Recruit Award went to Private Agyapong Boateng; Private Soka Stanley was adjudged the Best in Drill, whiles Private Henry Sawyer was the Best in Academics. 20 Dec. 07
