Deputy National Propaganda Secretary of the ruling NDC, Solomon Nkansah, has described as falsity the "sensing of ominous" events befalling Ghana by the General Overseer of the International Central Gospel Church, Pastor Mensah Otabil, saying it is meant to deceive Ghanaians to think in a certain line which seems to suggest that if the verdict does not favor his political leanings, there will be calamity in the country.

According to him, prior to the 2012 elections, Pastor Otabil said at a press conference that the NDC is a wicked and evil party which does not deserve to be in power; adding that Rev. Owusu Bempah made a similar comment that the NDC will not win the 2012 elections.

Few days after Dr. Otabil’s feeling about the calamity which might happen to Ghana if Christians do not pray to avert it, Rev. Owusu Bempah told Okay FM in an interview that for a senior colleague of his to come out to reiterate the same message he has been talking about in time past, it goes a long way to tell Ghanaians that God is warning us about an impending calamity.

But in a sharp rebuttal on Okay FM, the NDC Deputy National Propaganda Secretary claimed these are the false prophets God said would come during the end time; adding that God has not sent them to tell Ghanaians anything, rather they have chosen to deceive Ghanaians in the name of God.

He said the statement from the General Overseer of the International Central Gospel Church (I.C.G.C) is a lie meant to deceive the public.

He wondered how Otabil’s feeling about Ghana has come rather at a time the Supreme Court has less than a month to bring the ruling on the 2012 election petition.

He reminded that, Pastor Mensa Otabil spoke before the election convincing Ghanaians that if God indeed is still in existence, the NDC should not win the 2012 election; averring that God’s prophecy has never failed before and so the pronouncement from these men of God did not emanate from Him.

He further stated that the Bible has made it clear that there are good and false prophets in the world and that the only way to know the false prophets is the way they carry their activities; reiterating that: “these are the false prophets God told Jeremiah that: ‘I have not sent them and my words are not with them, but with their heart desires, they lie to deceive my people; on the day of harvest, I the Lord will clear them’”.
