Soroma Capital Donates Sports Equipment To Schools

As part of its social responsibility programme, Soroma Capital has donated some sports equipment to schools in its catchment area including Primary and Junior High Schools in Princes Town, Akatakyie and Asuboi, all in the Ahanta West District of the Western Region.

Soroma currently supports 40 SHS students who hail from the Princes Town area with full scholarships. Soroma’s corporate social responsibility agenda encompasses education, health and economic self-sufficiency and the company takes care to formulate and monitor programmes in conjunction with stakeholders. The sports equipment donated comprised 5 sets of football strips in the respective school colours, footballs, volley balls and pumps at a cost of GhC 10,000.

Soroma is soon to cut the sod at Princes Town for its much anticipated 150-key 5-star business conference and leisure resort which will be managed and operated by one of the world’s largest and most prestigious hotel brands. In line with the company’s focus on education, the Princes Town Hotel encompasses a Hospitality Training School that will contribute to an improvement in professional standards for all hospitality industry personnel in the Western Region. It is anticipated that the hotel will create up to 300 direct jobs and an additional 700 indirect jobs including a sustainable, reliable market for local food crop farmers, fishermen, craftsmen, tour guides, independent hotel maintenance related service companies and events management service providers.
