Speaker hails First Sky Boss

The Speaker of Ghana’s Parliament, Rt. Hon. Edward Kobby Doe Adjaho, has hailed the owner and Chairman of indigenous Ghanaian company, First Sky Group, for the immense use of his resources to support the underprivileged in society, and humanity at large.

The Rt. Hon Speaker said he was touched and moved by the contributions of Mr. Eric Sedi Kutortse, who did not spend his resources on luxury and “material things” but rather utilizes it prudently, in doing the work of God.

He said, “We seem to put much emphasis on material things and spend money, worshipping material things rather than God. I must admit that First Sky has proved some of us wrong; by seeing this young man resort to putting his resources into doing the work of God;” adding, “this means there is hope for this region and Ghana.”

Mr. Doe Adjaho stressed that people like the First Sky boss deserved a high level of commendation and should be praised for their life-touching role in society.

The Speaker made these observations at the thanksgiving service and handing over ceremony of 60 new Church buildings; 30 each built in the Volta and Eastern Regions by the First Sky Group, and donated to the Assemblies of God.

The event, which attracted hundreds of dignitaries, as well as members of the church, was held at the Jubilee Park in Ho, last Sunday.

Rt. Hon Adjaho, however, admonished the youth to stop chasing material things and emulate the path taken by the CEO of First Sky, because “at the end of the day, the lavish things will die, but the blessings of God will not die; and you will be remembered forever even after your death.”

In his speech, Eric Sedi Kutortse, the First Sky boss, told the mammoth congregation that the 60 chapels and many other donations and contributions being made to the church are “strictly” properties of the Assemblies of God.

The soft-spoken and God-fearing CEO noted that in future, “none of my family members will come one day to claim ownership of these churches I built for God.”

Meanwhile, the First Sky boss has also promised and announced that starting from 2016 to 2020; he would use 30 percent of his company’s income after tax, to look after orphans, as well as the needy throughout the country. The project, dubbed “Caring for the Needy and Orphans,” will last for a period of 5years.

This project, Mr. Kutortse revealed, has already started, and because this special initiative is so dear to his heart, he has taken it upon himself to be the Chairman of the project for a successful implementation.

The First Sky Group comprises of companies such as First Sky Construction, First Sky Commodities, as well as the elegant Volta Serene Hotel located in the Volta Regional capital, Ho.
