Accra, Nov. 23, GNA - The Speaker, Mr Peter Ala Adjetey has flown to Brussels, Belgium, to attend the Parliamentary Conference on the World Trade Organisation (WTO), which opens on Wednesday. A statement issued by the Office of Parliament on Tuesday said the meeting was a follow-up of previous sessions held in Geneva and Cancun last February and September, respectively.

The statement said the meeting was meant mainly for Members of Parliament, who specialise in international trade.

From Brussels, the Speaker would fly to Algiers to attend the 45th session of the Executive Committee of the African Parliamentary Union. Key issues to be discussed would include the election of members of the Executive Committee, the role of African Parliaments in the promotion of good governance, equitable international trade and the obstacles and strategies of representation of African women in decision-making bodies.

Members of the Speaker's delegation include MPs from both sides of the House.
