The special voting exercise in the Krowor constituency has delayed for quite a while after election officials had to wait for the agents of the Independent Parliamentary Candidate of the area.
The Returning Officer of the constituency, Benedict Clottey told GhOne that although they had to hold on a bit, voting subsequently continued unimpeded.
“The delay was a result of lateness in reporting by one of the candidates who also had a key but as at 7 o’clock, the ballot papers were out so we had to take our time to count them to authenticate if what we received is what we still have in the box,” Mr. Clottey disclosed.
The independent candidate contesting in the Krowor constituency, Duke Afotey Mensah on his part, revealed that his agents could not report on time because they joined public transport on their way to the centre.
“My agents, not all of them have cars of their own. They joined public transport so these circumstances are beyond their control but then we are looking forward to allowing them to set off early so they can get here on time,” he said.
He assured that he will work to ensure his agents report early on December 7.
