Minister of Trade and Industry Dr Ekwow Spio-Garbrah has promised President John Dramani Mahama of doing his best to ensure that the ‘Better Ghana Agenda’ is fully enjoyed by Ghanaians.
The Agenda was introduced by late President Professor John Atta Mills, whom Dr Spio-Garbrah criticized for appointing "Team B" ministers in steering the affairs of this country.
But at his swearing-in on Thursday, October 9 at the Flagstaff House, the former Education and Communications Minister said: “We shall do what we can to advance fully the agenda that [President John Mahama] has set so that the people of Ghana will see that they are indeed living under a Better Ghana Agenda.”
He indicated that his foremost task will be addressing the imbalances within the system as regards exports and imports.
“That structural imbalance has been in the economy for a long time and we must work collectively to try and address that.”
He opined that development can be guaranteed if the country’s exports supersede its imports.
