At the Nkwakaw Park, Okwawu United held Kumasi Asante Kokoko to a pulsating goalless drawn game in their 12th week GT Premier League match. Okwahu kicked off but soon lost the ball to Kotoko after Takoradi based Class One referee, Emmanuel Alhassan signalled the two teams into action and Kotoko went on to waste two corner kicks in the sixth and 17th minutes.

The home team counter attacked and had the chance to score in the 25th minute when inside right Issaka Ibrahim after beating two defenders was brought down in the 18 yard box of Kotoko but as the large following of both sides expected the referee to whistle for a penalty, the referee surprisingly signalled for play to continue to the dismay of the Okwawu supporters. In the 25th, 40th and 44th minutes, Okwawu piled up pressure on the visitors but wasted three scoring chances when their attackers made up of Wisdom Abbey, Gabriel Boateng and Azumah Nelson shot of target. Kotoko brought on John Cudjoe for inside right Kwabena Dodzie in the 60th minute and earned a free kick just outside the Okwawu 18 when an defender handled the ball but substitute Cudjoe's shot flew over the bar.

Both teams exhausted their substitution but it was Kotoko who continued to make series of incursions into the Okwawu goal area but wasted three goal scoring chances that came their way in the 75th, 77th and 80th minutes when Yusif Chibsah, Daniel Bomfa and Nana Arhin Duah's shots were repulsed by the Okwawu defence led by right half back, Kwame Antwi. Immediately referee Alhassan brought the proceedings to an end, the supporters of Okwawu who were not pleased with some of his decisions surged unto the field but the security personnel were smart to whisk him and his two assistants of the field to safety.
