The impact of the coronavirus pandemic on football has been dire as the football calendar has been decimated.

The sport has been hit massively and the revenue lost in estimated to be in millions of dollars.

But in this gloom lies some light for Africa players and African football clubs.

With clubs feeling the brunt of the coronavirus bite, it is expected that Africa could be the haven for relatively cheaper but quality players when the transfer window opens.

In this special edition of Sports Check, GhanaWeb’s sports editor, Daniel Oduro engages top rated Ghanaian soccer agent Oliver Arthur and an academy manager Kathleen Arthur on the impact of the virus on their respective fields.

An insightful and engrossing interaction that travels across a variety of topics which include salary cuts, keeping tabs on players during lockdown and most significantly the impact on the upcoming transfer window.

Kathleen also discusses how she is monitoring the young players in her academy and also touches on salary cuts in the Ghana Premier League.

Oliver advocates for more support for football and highlights the benefit football could have on the Ghanaian economy.
