Minister of Youth and Sports Nii Lante Vanderpuye has revealed that members of the Black Stars management committee will no longer receive bonuses when the Black Stars engage in matches.
According to him, he sees no reason why management committee members should be paid while the GFA has been tasked to handle the national teams.
“I have cut protocol and also bonuses paid to management committee members,” The Minister told Accra based radio station Citi-FM
“I will want to have justification from the Ghana Football Association on why I should pay.”
The minister also revealed that the number of hotel rooms allocated to the GFA during Black Stars game will be cut drastically all in the aim of reducing cost.
“I have also cut the number of rooms that are made available to the team during camping.”
“This will help us considerable cut down on the cost of feeding the players and the technical team will not be affected by this move."
“We have always had the situation where there are rooms for management members and other executive members and that’s what we are taking away.”
“I have made sure all those tangential expenses are taken away.”
“If we are spending money on a Black Stars match it must be money that we can account for and defend."
