St. Paul Methodist Men invites public to an exciting week-long encounter

The Association of Methodist Men’s fellowships, St. Paul Society, Tema Circuit, presents a week-long encounter to expose members and the public to exciting and revealing issues on the duties and responsibilities of men.

The 2019 men's week celebrations, which will be launched on Sunday, is on the theme, “Safety and Security in a Healthy Environment,” and will commence on May 15 and climax on May. 26.

In an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) on Wednesday, the Chairman of the 2019 Men’s Week Celebrations, Mr. Kofi Yankah, informed that men, “As heads of families, would feel safe only when their families are safe, and when we live in peace and safety, then we can do other things, put our families together, and save money.”

Mr. Yankah informed that one of the safe things to do as men was to think about what will happened after death.

“Most men do not have a will, but when you have one, you know what happens after you are gone which is a way of helping people to put their houses in order,” he said.

He observed that most people were of the opinion that children of God were not supposed to create wealth and that it did not make one righteous, insisting that, “it’s our mindset which makes us think Christians must not make money. It’s a matter of changing our minds.”

Mr. Yankah said the week’s activities were not only for the men of the circuit, but other societies in the circuit and the general public, because it was designed to teach the fundamentals of a safe and secure life in an ever changing world.

As part of the celebrations, officers from Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority (GPHA), the Ghana Police, and Ghana National Fire Service would educate men on safety issues.

There would also be a section for a lawyer to teach on issues of marriage, inheritance and succession.



There would also be talks on prudent financial management geared towards making men have full control over their resources, and a time with Nana Dr. Michael Agyekum Addo, Group Chief Executive, Mikado Holdings Limited, who would throw light on Wealth Creation and the Christian, designed to inspire men to make genuine money and support God’s work.

There would be an evangelism walk through various streets of Tema to spread the teachings of Christ and the message of St. Paul in an attempt to win souls for Christ and the church.

And to make things convenient for workers who may come directly from work, buses would be available in the evenings to convey them to their communities, and refreshment provided by Cocoa Processing Company.
