Staff of the Transactional Product and Services (TPS) unit of Stanbic Bank Ghana have donated assorted items to the Pediatric Ward of the Tetteh Quarshie Memorial Hospital in Mampong Akuapem in the Eastern Region.

The gesture, which is part of the unit’s annual employee community initiative, saw the team donate cash and hospital supplies to the hospital. The supplies include oxygen tanks, notice boards, pillows, bedside lockers, mattresses and bed sheets for all the beds and cribs. The team also sponsored the painting of the wards of the Children’s Block.

Presenting the items, John Prempeh, Head, Transactions for Products and Services, said the initiative is in tandem with Stanbic Bank’s culture of supporting and caring for the vulnerable.

“As a bank, we are not just interested in making profit; we want to impact lives and help people move forward,” he said. “The bank believes children are the future leaders, and that is why we are here today to invest in their wellbeing.”

Staff of the TPS unit also volunteered to spend time interacting and mentoring the beneficiaries.

Receiving the items on behalf of the hospital, Dr. Albert Benneh, the Medical Superintendent of the Hospital, lauded the team for the support. “You did a very good assessment of our needs and you really have delivered,” he said. The Children’s Ward is one of the areas that was of a very great concern to us and so this donation has taken a big burden off our back”

He assured them that the donations will be put in good use.

Over the years, the TPS unit has made donations to various institutions in the country. These include the Pantang Hospital, Somanya Hospital, Ho Hospital, Bawjiase Hospital, Somanya Orphanage and a library at Asamankese.

Stanbic Bank is committed to creating prosperity and giving back to the people of Ghana. The bank provides social support in education, sports development, the agricultural sector, poverty relief, health and environmental protection.
