Stanbic Bank Ghana in partnership with the Ghana Registered Nurses and Midwives Association (GRNMA) has launched the Nurse-Midwife Care as a holistic solution package to cater for the specific needs of nurses and midwives in the country.

The care solution was out doored at the 2020 International Nurses Day launch by the GRNMA to commemorate the 200th birthday of Florence Nightingale, an event which coincided with the 60th-anniversary launch of the association.

Head of Personal Markets at Stanbic Bank, Harry Opoku Agyemang who launched the package said the solution is a consequence of a deep diagnosis of the issues and challenges faced by nurses and midwives in Ghana.

He stated that “just as health workers listen to their patients before prescribing medications, Stanbic also took its time to engage and listen to nurses and midwives to determine and understand what their issues, challenges and needs were before coming up with these Nurse-Midwife Care solutions.” The packages are therefore informed by what the nurses and midwives themselves told Stanbic representatives in the engagements, he said.

The President of the GRNMA, Mrs. Perpetual Ofori-Ampofo stated that she was elated that “the association has been able to work with Stanbic for these products to be made available to nurses and midwives in Ghana and that it will go a long way to mitigate the financial challenges of its members.”

The Nurse- Midwife Care Solution packages include 50% salary advance to new staff who may not have received their pay for up to six (6) months, mortgage at 12%, car loan payable by affordable deductions after determining the price of a car with a car dealer, loan amounts up to GHC300,000 with a 19% interest rate at reducing balance and an ‘Eduplan’ for personal education or that of dependants. Also available with the offering is a credit card facility with no interest and all spendings paid within 55 days.

The package is open to all nurses and midwives in Ghana who are registered members of GRNMA. All one needs to do is access the link to the packages, download the relevant form, fill it and get the Employer and the GRNMA District Chairman to endorse and send same to Stanbic via email. Nurses and Midwives can also walk into any Stanbic Bank branch for any required assistance.

The International Nurses Day is celebrated around the world every May 12, to honour the sacrifices and dedication of nurses to the wellbeing of humanity. Stanbic Bank uses the opportunity to salute all nurses for their dedication especially in this time of the COVID-19 pandemic.
