Broadcast right owners of the Ghana Premier League (GPL), StarTimes have apologized for their inability to telecast week 17 matches of the GPL as earlier on advertised.

In a press release, the broadcasting firm attributed their failure to air the games to “circumstances beyond their control”

The statement reads; "StarTimes offers its profound apologies to football loving fans for our inability to bring week 17 matches of the Ghana Premier League to our television audiences all over the country. It was due to circumstances beyond our control.

We entreat our fans and the media to recognize the fact that our Premier League needs all the understanding and support it can get from the media, instead of the constant denigration of the very organizations that are making the effort and sacrifice to help lift the Ghana Premier League to higher heights.

StarTimes has invested heavily and continue to invest in getting the games out regularly . In this regard, we would want to announce the completion of the construction of our multimillion dollar ultra-moden digital OB Van which we believe will solve some of these teething challenges that Startimes has encountered.

Measures have however been put in palce to enure that the rest of this season games are brought to our television fans without any break".

Unconfirmed reports however have it that StarTimes owes GTV a substantial amount of money for the production they did in the first round of the season.
