The ministerial investigative committee report on GYEEDA has issued clear recommendations for swift prosecution of corrupt officials named in the report, a copy of the report cited by Joy News revealed.

The findings of the report corroborate Joy News’ own earlier investigations that revealed systematic corruption by some officials of GYEEDA as well as questionable contracts with service providers.

Investigations by Joy News’ Manasseh Azure Awuni triggered the government backed investigations.

The 163 paged report contains strong recommendations on both service providers and government officials.

The report recommends the cancellation of key contracts and the rationalization of those that are to be maintained.

The report also recommends the prosecution of some GYEEDA officials. It says some of the officials demanded bribes from service providers while others engaged in fraud and corrupt practices.

It raises issues with fake certificates by some GYEEDA officials and refers the culprits to the Attorney-General for prosecution.

Some of the service providers are also to refund millions of Ghana cedis to the state.

Some officials of GYEEDA, according to the report, do not have the capacity for the positions they occupy and should be sacked.

What is clear is that tens of millions of Ghana cedis will be saved every month if the recommendations are implemented.

Myjoyonline.com will in subsequent reports provide details of the report corroborating findings in an earlier Joy News investigation including the specific individuals recommended for prosecution.
