Stay ahead and be prepared to counter security issues - COP Maame Tiwaa Addo-Danquah charges officers

The Executive Director of Ghana's Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO), COP Maame Yaa Tiwaa Addo-Danquah, has called on members of Junior Staff Course 81 to stay ahead of issues and be prepared to combat crime at all times.
Speaking as the guest of honour at the graduation ceremony of Junior Staff Course 81 on Friday, June 14, 2024, COP Addo-Danquah emphasized the need for graduates to apply the knowledge gained and make it a point to train and stay alert to face crimes at all times.
“We have instability because of terrorism, ethnic and religious disputes, natural, environmental, and human-induced disasters such as the recent spillage and subsequent floods in some regions which had devastating effects on humanity.
“With your current knowledge and skills gained, it is important that you constantly strive to arrive at a clearer understanding of what it takes to contain any of these threats, be it natural or man-made.
“I exhort you, therefore, as professional military officers to be ahead in your awareness and preparations at all times to be on top of challenges that you might encounter in your endeavours,” COP Addo-Danquah said.
She also challenged officers to be problem solvers, pay attention to details, and always inquire to know more.
COP Addo-Danquah said, “Let me at this stage share some thoughts with you, the graduates. As future commanders, you must be fully committed to problem-solving in respect to the training of your personnel, their administration, and welfare. And as future staff officers, you should have an inquiring mind and pay attention to details. You also need to display the highest level of discipline, integrity, and dedication to this noble profession.”
Junior Staff Course 81 assembled on January 26, 2024, and commenced lectures on January 29, 2024, with 76 students.
Among the students are one from The Gambia, one from the Republic of Liberia, three from Botswana, and four from the Federal Republic of Nigeria. The remaining 67 students are Ghanaian officers drawn from the Ghana Army, the Ghana Navy, and the Ghana Air Force.
