Former President John Dramani Mahama has reiterated the need for Ghanaians to hold fast to the preventive measures as Ghana’s coronavirus cases keep rising.

The former president in a post on Facebook said the preventive measures are the only means by which we can prevent the spread of the virus.

He also called on Ghanaians top stay at home if they have nothing important to do in town.

His post read: "Hello everyone. Let us continue to hold fast to the preventive measures. They are our first line of defence as individuals, and it is a collective responsibility. The preventive measures are currently the only means by which we can slow down the spread of this dreadful coronavirus and provide enough time to mount a robust response.

Please stay at home if you have nothing important to go out to do.”

Ghana has currently confirmed 27 cases with two deaths leaving the cases to 25.

An update from the Ghana Health Service said: ”Out of the suspected, twenty-seven (27) cases including two (2) deaths have been confirmed. In respect of contact tracing, a total of 598 contacts have been identified and are being tracked. One (1) of the contacts developed symptoms and has been confirmed positive.
