Head of Department of the Information Service, Madam Esther Amegabvlui, has urged the public to strictly keep to the World Health Orgarnisation and Ghana health service's precautions to wash hands regularly and practice social distancing to reduce the infections.

"Coronavirus is real, and since we have recorded a case in the Western region, we need to be vigilant and stick to the precautions laid down to wash hands, practice social distancing and use hand sanitizers often, we don't want our cases to go up so please let's help ourselves," she said during an educational tour in the Effia Kwesimintim Municipal Assembly in Takoradi.

The ISD also took the opportunity to hear out the concerns of the community members and clear misconceptions.

This forms part of efforts by the ISD to intensify education about the coronavirus amidst increasing numbers.

The autonomous body sensitized the public in collaboration with NCCE.
