Stock market dips on GCB loss

Accra, Oct. 25, GNA - The Accra bourse dipped on Friday as bearish sentiments continue to dominate the market after initial high performances early in the year all but vanish.

The GSE-All Share Index, the benchmark measure of the Exchange, fell 54.42 points, pulled down by a 1,000-cedi loss by Ghana Commercial Bank. It closed lower at 6,932.90 points as against 6,987.32 points at the previous close on Wednesday. The Change Year to Date now stands at 95.10 points. Total Shares traded improved slightly at 110,500 shares from 47,000 shares on Wednesday.


On the broader market, there were two price changes. Produce Buying Company gained 50 cedis at 3,600 cedis while GCB shed 1,000 cedis to end trading at 12,000 cedis.


Market Capitalisation closed at 97,029.50 billion cedis from 97,170.50 billion cedis on Wednesday.
