Stop Burying The Dead In Homes - Bawa Seidu

Chaggu (UW), July 14, Mr. Bawa Seidu, presiding member of the Wa District Assembly, has called on community leaders to help stop the practice of burying the dead in the homes particularly near water sources and market places. He said the assembly will soon ensure that each community establish a common cemetery to end indiscriminate burials which do not augur well for any dynamic society. He made the call at a one-day seminar on the theme, ''The environment and the people'' organized by the Upper West Regional Directorate of the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) and the Saint Augustine's Catholic Church at Chaggu in the Wa District at the weekend. It was attended by about chiefs, assembly members, teachers and opinion leaders in the Chakale Traditional Area.
