By: Iddrissu A. Jara – Al-Hajj

The former Brong Ahafo Regional Chairman of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), Alhaji Abdullah Ahmed –Abdullah a.k.a. Alhaji PMC has charged supporters, party sympathizers, national, regional and constituency executives to be mindful of their utterances in respect to Ex-President Rawlings.

According to Alhaji PMC as he is popularly known, noted for some time that some senior members of the party have taken on Mr. Rawlings adding that will not speak well to the fortunes of NDC.

“NDC could have won more seats than if elements in the party have gone to talk to the individuals who were disgruntled and threatened to contest as independent candidate, candidates were imposed on some constituencies where the people opposed to it and the candidate lost to the opponent.”

The former B/A regional chairman accused some elements within the party of been brain behind the several insults melted out on Ex-president Rawlings founder of the party.

Alhaji PMC accused them of masterminding insults on former president Rawlings that makes it look as if party was in shambles with its founder. He also advised them, especially those from Ashanti region to fight for more parliamentary seats in the region than sitting in radio stations in Accra calling JJ Rawlings names.

In an interview with this reporter, Alhaji PMC advised the NDC chapter 2 verse JM not to indulge in politics of insults and fight hard to get another term come 2016.

He was worried that some executive members of the party could go on air telling Ghanaians that Ex-president Rawlings did not support president Mahama when he Rawlings openly endorsed him in Kumasi and Ho respectively.

During a called on him by former regional executives of the party, ex – President Rawlings endorsed Mahama and tasked them to work hard to maintain the party in power.

“Where were those of them when Rawlings was campaigning in 2008? Rawlings campaign through out the length and breath of the country. They only appear after election was won,” he said.

He reveals that Ex-president Rawlings endorsed president Mahama since 2004 to partner the late Prof. Mills in the run up to the general elections.

Meanwhile information picked up by the Al-Hajj indicates that after the declaration of the winner of the 2012 general elections by the Electoral Commissioner, Dr. Afari Gyan of John Mahama being the presidents elect Ex- president Rawlings was heard on top of his voice cheering President Mahama and the NDC for a good job done.

One could remember that Ex-President Rawlings had endorsed President Mahama in Kumasi and Ho prior to the December election where he conceded that president Mahama has brought some sanity in the party.

Alhaji PMC therefore appealed to the current or yet to be formed NDC government to be careful of those who insult to get appointment.
