Stop Politics of insults to avoid chaos- Hawa

Mrs Mavis Hawa Koomson, New Patriotic Party (NPP) Parliamentary Candidate for Awutu –Senya, has appealed to supporters and high ranking members of the political parties to desist from politics of insult and acrimony.

Mrs Koomson said political violence would not help the growth and the deepening of the country’s democratic dispensation.

She made this known in an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) during the inauguration of the Awutu-Senya East Municipal Assembly at Kasoa.

“Ghanaians should avoid anything that could bring political instability and halt the economic and social development which the country was yearning for."

Mrs Koomson urged political party leaders to stop engaging macho men during and after the elections, adding that, inciting supporters, especially the youth to engage in violence, would not help in moving the nation forward.

Mrs Koomson commended the authorities for the creation of Awutu- Senya East Municipal Assembly with its capital at Kasoa, adding that, the population of the town is increasing at a fast rate which needed an Assembly to administer its development.

Mrs Koomson expressed the hope that the proposed split of the Constituency into two would help the NPP to win the two seats.

She called on NPP supporters to intensify their political campaign to win more votes for Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo-Addo and herself in the upcoming elections to ensure quality governance.

Mrs Koomson said the National Democratic Congress (NDC) government has failed Ghanaians since many of the promises it made have not been fulfilled.

She urged Ghanaians to reject the NDC government and replace it with the NPP in the December polls.**
