Stop all forged documents on Nungua Lands – Lands Commission told

Lawyer of the Nungua Chief of Staff Mr. Frank Kofi Lewi has written to the Lands Commission to kindly take steps to stop processing of all documents relating to any dispositions or any instruments in respect of any Nungua Stool land brought before their outfit.

In a jointly written letter to the Commission from Pwamang & Associates, Zoe-Atta Akyea & Co and Abada & Co., indicated that their attention has been drawn to the prevalence of a lot of forged documents relating to lands under the Nungua Stool which in spite of their dubious nature are still being processed by the Lands Commission.

It said, “our client is alarmed because this is assuming very fearful proportions especially as the accredited signatories do not have any idea of these forgeries”.

The lawyers indicated that they hope the Commission will assist their client in that regard to weed out these alleged miscreants who have been creating a lot of problems and the litigations it generates sometimes.

“We shall humbly urge you to forthwith withhold onto any document presented in respect of any disposition relating to any land under the Nungua and put same to the police to check authenticity before proceeding to process same,” it said.

The letter from the law firms was copied to the Executive Secretary and Regional Chairman of Lands Commission, the Regional Surveyor, the Administrator – Stool Lands Secretariat, the Director – Lands Division, the Registrar Nungua Traditional Council and the Inspector General of Police. The rest are; the Director CID, Property Fraud Unit –CID, National Security Coordinator and King Odaifio Welensti III – Nungua Mantse.
