Stop blame game - NPP advised

Saltpond (C/R), Jan 20, GNA - The Central Regional Youth Organizer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr Francis Ejaku Donkoh, has urged members of the party to stop the blame game some of them had engaged in following the party's defeat in Election 2008.

Mr Donkoh said though it helped at times to build upon the past it could also be dangerous for a political party to focus on who did what. Speaking to the Ghana News Agency in an interview at Saltpond, he appealed to the party to bury the past to enable them to unite to tackle the 2012 general electioneering campaign which is the greatest challenge ahead of the party.

"We need not cry over spilt milk since it will not be of any use to us," he said. Mr Donkoh said it would not be too difficult for them to bring the party back to power in 2012 if they all unite and work hard towards the 2012 election and urged them to desist from activities and utterances which could break their front.

He cautioned the party against using non-performance of President John Atta Mills' government as a done deal for the NPP to clinch victory in the 2012 elections, as such tactics could be dangerous for the NPP. "A lot of things go into winning elections than only fulfilling electoral promises," he said.

Mr Donkoh advised the youth to bear in mind that the party belonged to them and that they should work towards its sustenance. He urged youth groups like Nasara and TESCOM to embark on house to house visitation to preach the good news about the party to the people.
