Veteran Journalist Odifuo Kwabena Asare popularly called ‘Otwinoko’ has admonished journalists to desist from tearing down their colleagues through the use of ‘juju’.
'Blind' Otwinoko who has not been active on the media scene for some years now due to his illness is currently working with Accra-based Hot FM.
According to him, majority of Journalists especially those in the Kumasi metropolis engage in voodooism just to destroy their colleagues’ hard earned reputation.
He indicated that most journalists’ hearts are filled with envy, jealousy, hatred hence tends to haunt their own colleagues.
Otwinoko admitted that he is a victim of black magic attributing his sickness to calculated efforts by his detractors to kill him.
He observed that most journalists pull their colleagues down in order to win favours from media owners and the public.
Otwinoko wondered why journalists are unable to work in harmony to foster the development of their various media houses and the country at large but resort to pulling each other down through gossips and deity consultations.
A livid Otwinoko described as ‘stupidity’ on the part of journalists who do not care about the welfare and progress of their media houses.
Speaking on Ultimate Inspiration hosted by Winfred Daniel Nii Adjaye, he indicated that most journalists have the penchant for destroying their colleagues in exchange for material stuff and taking over their positions.
He advised journalists to eat the humble pie saying they will not be buried with their riches when they die.
‘I am advising journalists to stop the arrogance, the various media houses you work with are owned by people who have given you the privilege to turn things around in your lives and to impact society, so stop the voodooism against each other, the pull him down will not help, let's love ourselves,’ he entreated.
He observed that the big guys in the media are always reluctant to pass on knowledge to the upcoming ones saying they rather seek delight in seeing them fail.
He advised Ghanaians not to give up in life but to continue to pursue their dreams.
‘Life is a battle, either you win or lose,…there is peace at the end of the tunnel, I can’t do it doesn’t exist in the minds of the heroes, do it now, today is your time, let your dream happens,’ he urged.
