The Child Online Protection Manager at Ghana’s Cyber Security Authority (CSA), Martin Agyei Aboagye, has cautioned the public against sharing personal and confidential work-related information with artificial intelligence (AI) tools.
He said users must be mindful of the information they input into AI platforms, including ChatGPT, warning that sensitive details belonging to individuals, organisations and the country should not be exposed.
Speaking in an interview with GhanaWeb on October 23, 2026, during the Child Online Protection Digital Parenting Forum, Aboagye urged workers to avoid feeding AI applications with confidential data obtained in the course of their duties.
“The advice I could give about that is, let us desist from feeding AI with personal information and information from work,” he said.
He explained that employees who use AI tools to perform work-related tasks must be careful not to disclose confidential information, such as names and figures that should remain within their organisations.
“Let’s say I work at CSA, I’m doing some work on ChatGPT or whichever app, and then I’m putting names and figures that should be confidential to the authority or to their country. Let us desist from that,” he cautioned.

According to him, users should understand the potential risks associated with the information they provide to AI systems and exercise caution when using the technology.
Aboagye noted that information entered into AI tools could influence responses generated for other users, raising concerns about the possible exposure of information that should not be publicly accessible.
“AI is a machine, so what you feed it is what you use,” he shared.
He further warned that users could receive responses containing information they were not expected to access, depending on the data and instructions provided to an AI system.
“If I input a command into AI, after you have done what you did, trust me, I might get a response in relation to what you did. I might get some information I’m not supposed to even have access to,” he added.
