Brother of the late Prof. John Evans Atta Mills, Samuel Atta Mills has called on the media and Ghanaians as a whole to take politics out of everything that goes on in the country.
The MP for Komenda, Edina, Eguafo, Abirem (KEEA) said it wasn’t “fair to anybody to bring in party politics” anytime there was an issue for discussion.
He said politics should not be drawn into the reasons for government officials not attending the memorial service of his late brother.
Aside the technical advisor of the senior minister, Yaw Osafo Maafo, no official from the government was present at the fifth anniversary memorial for the late president and some NDC members were not happy about that.
But Samuel Atta Mills said, “it’s just unfortunate that in Ghana these days, everything has turned into NDC, NPP. If we don’t stop that, this country will never progress”.
Sharing some memories of the late Prof. Mills, Samuel Atta Mills said he practised what he taught.
“He taught us integrity, he practised integrity; he taught us humility, he practised it and he taught us God-fearing and he practised it and this is something that we all acquired from our parents and that is what we live by”.
