A group calling itself the Concerned Voters Movement have descended heavily on Former President Mahama for his decision to ‘hijack’ the house meant for the Vice Presidents of Ghana.

The Former President requested through his Former Chief of Staff Julius Debrah to keep the house he resides in as part of his ex-gratia benefits but this request has been rejected.

This request has been described the group as an attempt to set a very dangerous unattainable precedence and covetous legacy in our Governance System.

In a statement signed by the Founder and President of the Concerned Voters Movement, Razak Kojo Opoku, it emphatically detailed that the Former President could relocate to his father’s house just as other Presidents live in residents that are not provided for by the state.

“Ghana is not a family inheritance. If John Mahama is stranded he can relocate to his father's house, after all, incorruptible Akufo-Addo is still modestly operating from his father's house as the current President of Ghana.”

“President John Agyekum Kufuor ruled for eight solid years, humbly operating from his house and he has been in opposition for another eight solid years without a retirement house from the Nation. ”

They also admonished President Akufo-Addo to focus on the job for which he was elected to lead the country and not concentrate on sharing houses.

CVM SHALL RESIST ANY ATTEMPT BY PREZ AKUFO-ADDO TO FREELY GIVE AWAY THE CANTONMENT RESIDENCE TO JOHN MAHAMA ----------------------------------------------------- CVM wishes to use this opportunity to caution the Government of President Akufo-Addo not to grant the request of Covetous John Mahama. The Former President John Mahama does not deserve the Cantonment Residence together with the adjoining facilities as his official retirement home.

John Mahama wants to set a very dangerous unattainable precedence and covetous legacy in our Governance System.

Yes John Mahama is entitled to a Retirement Home but not the Official Residence designated for Vice-President of Ghana.

The 53.85% of Voters did not risked their precious lives to endorsed, campaign, and vote for Nana Akufo-Addo into Government to administer the sharing of State Bungalow to John Mahama. Ghana is not a family inheritance. If John Mahama is stranded he can relocate to his father's house, after all incorruptible Akufo-Addo is still modestly operating from his father's house as the current President of Ghana.

President John Agyekum Kufuor ruled for eight solid years, humbly operating from his house and he has been in opposition for another eight solid years without a retirement house from the Nation. But H.E. John Mahama ruled as President for 4.6years and he want the Nation to grant him the official residence of the Country's Vice-President?

CVM would like to suggest that President Akufo-Addo grants the bungalow of Jake Obetsebi-Lamptey to John Mahama to satisfy the conscience of Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa and Dr. Edward Omane Boamah.

Finally, at all times a harmless plagiarized speech is far better than shambolic seizure of State bungalow.

...Signed... Razak Kojo Opoku (Founder & President of CVM)
