Accra A 12-day programme in mushroom and snail production organised jointly by the African Centre for Human Resource Development and the UNDP for 18 participants ended in Accra today. The participants who included street children, unemployed youth and pensioners, were taken through various farming practices, basic managerial and accounting skills and exercises to develop positive attitudes to business. At the closing ceremony, representatives from non-banking financial institutions and export promotion organisations, briefed the participants on available training programmes, credit lines and how to benefit and how to identify export markets for their produce. They also advised the participants on the need to plan their business, form partnerships and work together for increased production. The representatives were from the National Board for Small-Scale Industries, Citi Savings and Loans, Export Promotion Council and Amex International.
