Reverend Alfred Appiah, a Pastor at the Grace Baptist Church at Amakom in Kumasi, has asked all to strengthen their relationship with God by keeping to the teachings of the gospel.
He said this was the path to travel to achieve enduring peace and bring hope to the world.
Delivering the sermon at a Christmas service, Rev. Appiah asked the congregation to mirror Christ-like qualities of self-discipline, integrity, sacrifice, humility and service.
He said, by so doing, they would become a positive influence on society, adding that this was their charge, and they should neither disappoint nor fail.
Rev. Appiah denounced the situation where some people engaged in all manner of immoral and socially reprehensible behaviour during the Christmas celebration, and rallied Christians to be bold and speak against that.
"Christmas provides an opportunity to reflect on our responsibility to society, and to remain steadfast in our faith,” he stated.
