Fuseini Issah, Member of Parliament for Okaikoi North, has said there is the need for institutions in Ghana tasked to provide security to ensure that public confidence in these institutions is strong.

This he said will help deal with the issue of mob actions that are prevalent in the country.

Speaking on the lynching of Captain Mahama by an angry mob at Denkyira Obuasi in the Central Region on suspicion that he was an armed robber on Monday 29 May, he said: “As a people we need to stand up to our weaknesses. Even after this incident, there have been incidents or reports in the media of other lynchings taking place in other parts of the country.

“We have to look at our systems. We have to find a way to give people the avenues to be able to put out whatever challenges are.

“We should be able to have a system where people will have confidence in the system, where people will say they can get justice expected of him under a constitutional government.”
