A student of a soccer academy and a farmer on Wednesday appeared before the Kade District Magistrate’s Court on three counts of conspiracy to steal, unlawful entry and stealing.

The pleas of Philip Baah, the student, and Aliu Aboagye, the farmer, were not taken and they were remanded in prison custody to reappear on February 23.

Police Inspector Francis Cobbina told the court presided over by Mr Abdul Majid Illiasu that on January 29 the two conspired to steal.

They then unlawfully entered the provisions store of Daniel Kwasi Amoah and stole a 14-inch television set, LG DVD player and provisions all valued at GH¢1,479.

Baah and Aboagye took some of the items to Otumi and kept them in the house of one Abu who is at large for safe keeping.

The prosecutor said on January 30 the complainant visited his shop and detected theft of the items and suspected Baah as the brain behind the theft, had him arrested at his hideout at Otumi and handed him over to the Police.

During interrogation, Baah admitted the offence and led the police to retrieve the TV set and DVD player.

He then mentioned Aboagye and two others now at large as accomplices.
