Accra Sept. 18, GNA - A student, who sneaked into an office at the Motor Transport and Traffic Unit (MTTU), Accra Central and stole 800,000 cedis from the office has been sentenced to 48 months' imprisonment with hard labour by a Circuit Court in Accra.

Price Antwi, pleaded guilty to being on the premises for unlawful purpose, causing unlawful damage and stealing the money being receipts from accident reports.

The court chaired by Mr Emmanuel Ankamah convicted him on his own plea. The facts of the Prosecution were that on September 17 at about 1650 hours, Corporal Charles Boadi of MTTU Orderly Room saw Antwi emerging from Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) S. K. Ntim's Office and when he accosted him he could not provide any tangible reason why he entered there.

When he was searched, 800,000 cedis wrapped in a paper with DSP Ntim's name on it was found in his back pocket. Prosecution said Antwi confessed breaking into the Officer's briefcase and stealing the money while the Officer was away. 18 Sept. 03
