Students Shit-Bomb Headmaster at Wesley Grammar

INFORMATION REACHING DAILY GUIDE indicates that some students of the Wesley Grammar Senior High School in Dansoman, Accra, have been suspended indefinitely for desecrating the office of the headmaster, Very Rev. Isaac J. Aidoo, with human excreta; an act popularly referred to as ‘shit bombing’.

The students were said to have smeared the office of the reverend with the smelly stuff on February 21, after he interrupted an ongoing party.

The party was said to have been organized by students of the school as part of their entertainment activities for the term.

According to information available to DAILY GUIDE, some students were allegedly dressed in unapproved attire such as miniskirts among others at the party, a practice that is frowned on by the school authorities.

However the headmaster is believed to have abruptly halted the entertainment programme upon seeing the students in the unapproved attire.

Consequently, all four entertainment prefects have lost their positions after being charged with the unlawful organization of the said party.

Sources close to the school have indicated that nineteen boarding students who were allegedly part of the entertainment programme are now reporting to school from their houses while others who were originally ‘day students’ have been suspended indefinitely.

The source said as a result of the incident all entertainment programmes for this academic term have been terminated by the Rev. Aidoo.

One tutor, who spoke to DAILY GUIDE on condition of anonymity, indicated that the ‘shit bombing’ affected school sessions as they could not hold classes for five days and were saved when students went for mid-term holidays a week after.

“School only returned to normal last Tuesday after the students returned from the holidays”, the tutor said.

Another source said the students were suspended based on the decision of a special committee that was set up to probe the actions of the culprits.

“We are even told that the headmaster of the school also wrote to the headmistress of the Accra Academy School to suspend some of her students who were suspected to have been present at the party”, the source said.

Students who spoke to DAILY GUIDE could not hide their disapproval of the headmaster’s actions. They claim the headmaster detests entertainment programmes, even though they are billed as part of their school fees.

Meanwhile, Very Rev. Isaac J. Aidoo refused to comment when DAILY GUIDE contacted him.

Parents of the affected students are angry with the school’s decision to punish their wards since the authorities failed to assign teachers to guide the students.

They accused the headmaster of running a one-man show, thereby creating disaffection among the teaching staff.
