Dadieso (W/R) Aug. 11,-GNA-Mr. Eric Theophilus Tandoh, former Presiding Member of the Aowin-Suaman district assembly in the Western Region was on Thursday elected New Patriotic Party (NPP) Parliamentary candidate for the Suaman constituency at a delegates meeting at Dadieso. Mr. Tandoh, 35, polled 16 of the 45 votes cast to beat three other contestants in the keenly contested election, which was conducted by the Electoral Commission and supervised by Mr. Peter Mac Manu, National Chairman of the Party.

Mr. Mac Manu commended the delegates for the peaceful and orderly manner the election the election was conducted and urged them to leave no stone unturned to ensure NPP victory in the 2008 elections. He advised constituency executives to organize rallies to introduce the party's parliamentary candidates to the electorate and explain the government's laudable policies as well as its achievements. The NPP chairman said lapses that led to the defeat of the party in some polling centers had been identified and strategies put in the place to ensure total victory, which, he said, could be achieved only through hard work.

Mr. Mac Manu therefore urged the rank and file of the party to be vigilant and do "extra hard work" in the execution of tasks assigned them and reminded them that victory cannot be won on "silver platter". Mr. Tandoh thanked the delegates for electing him as the candidate for the constituency and promised that he would not let them down but would work tirelessly to ensure victory in the forthcoming elections. 11 Aug. 07
