Kumasi, June 2, GNA - A seven-member Executive of National Democratic congress (NDC) in the newly created Suame Constituency has been sworn into office with a call on the members to work tirelessly towards winning the seat at Election 2004.
Mr Akwasi Abayie, Ashanti Regional Organiser of the NDC, who swore the executive into office, reminded them that the task ahead of them was not easy but told them that with dedication and hard work they could win the seat.
He asked them to campaign in an atmosphere of peace and refrain from inflammatory language that could disturb the peace.
Mr Osei Boosie heads the new Executives as the Chairman, with Mr Ibrahim Yakubu as Secretary, while Mr Isham Alhassan is the Organiser. Other members of the executive were Mr Abdul Karim, Youth Organiser, Miss Theresa Mensah, Women's Organiser, Miss Abena Nyarko, Treasurer and Mr Clement Appiah, Propaganda Secretary. Speaking after being sworn into office, Mr Boosie expressed members' appreciation to the supporters for the confidence they had reposed in them.
He pledged their preparedness to work towards winning the seat and called for their co-operation.
Mr Boosie asked political parties and the media to place the interest of the nation first before all other things so as to sustain the peace.
Mr Yakubu suggested that the government should seek dialogue with all the political parties on how to ensure absolute peace in the country now, during and after the elections.
