Sunday World Newspaper To Be Launched

The Sunday World Newspaper, the only Sunday mainstream newspaper, will be launched in Accra at the Aviation Social Centre on Saturday, January 13, 2007 at 6:00PM. The thirty-two (32 ) page new spaper is expected to play a pivotal role in presenting social, entertainment, political and sports issues to Ghanaians on Sunday .

According to Mr. Kwasi Nantwi, the Acting editor of the paper, the newspaper seeks to fill the void created by a lack of a newspaper on Sunday. He said "We aim to provide on a systematic basis, authentic and true information on business, politics , social and developmental issues. This will be a reflection of new positive trends in the media aimed at stepping up new spapers to a new level".

Speakers expected for the occassion will among others include the Okyenhene;Osagyefuo Amoatia Ofori Panin, Minister of Communications, Hon. Mike Quaye, Minister for Information and National Orientation, Hon. Kwamina Bartels, Managing Director of Barclays, Mrs. Margaret Mwankantwe and Rev. Dr. Mensah Otabil, General Overseer of International Central Gospel . Noble Nketia, will perform at the function
