Prophet George Awuley Lartey, General Overseer of the Adonai Deliverance Ministry, has called on the youth to use the appropriate channels to ensure that the leaders play accountable roles.

He said it is only when “we have identified our individual and collective roles and have executed them consciously that the society can be said to be progressive”.

Prophet Lartey made the call over the weekend at the launch of the fifth-anniversary celebration of the church at Abokobi-Boi near Abokobi in the Ga East Municipality of the Greater Accra Region.

Some of the activities planned for the celebration are float, donation to an orphanage, dedication of the temple, film show and thanksgiving service.

Prophet Lartey said with the zeal and the desire of the youth to assist government, Ghana would overcome her numerous woes.

He said in this era of youth indiscipline across the globe, there is the need for churches to map out concrete strategies to enhance the progress of the nation.

The General Overseer said insecurity and indiscipline were some of the major problems confronting the nation adding that churches, non-governmental organizations and student bodies should not rest on their oars but to adopt an appropriate approach to fight the challenges facing the nation.

Prophet Lartey said the church would create awareness on the need for an ‘All-Hands-on-Deck’ approach to challenges facing the nation.

He said it is the intention of the church to establish a school and a hospital to care for the educational and the health needs of the people in the community.

Prophet Lartey appealed to drivers to desist from driving under the influence of alcohol to save life and property and urged religious leaders to desist from all forms of negative tendencies that may tarnish the image of the clergy.

Mr Robert Yoyowah, an elder of the church, said the church has set up an endowment fund to support the aged and brilliant but needy students in the community.
