The suspect is said to have previously threatened to kill his father with sharp knives
A 45-year-old man believed to be a drug addict and mentally challenged, has allegedly murdered his 75-year-old father at Tema Community 8.
The suspect, whose name was only given as Ofori, on Wednesday reportedly, inflicted multiple knife wounds on the deceased and dragged him out of their house, eyewitnesses told 3news.com.
Both the suspect and the deceased live in one house. The deceased, according to witnesses, could barely walk due to old age.
The suspect is said to have previously threatened to kill his father with sharp knives and implement.
On Wednesday evening, the suspect locked up the old man in the house and slashed him with knives.
“Neighbours heard of scream from the house and rush there to witness Ofori killing his father,” an eyewitness who claimed anonymity told 3news.com.
The Police later arrived at the scene to convey the deceased to the Tema General Hospital morgue.
The suspect is currently in police custody at the Tema Regional Police headquarters assisting in investigation.
