An Accra Circuit Court on Tuesday granted bail to Theophilus Oscar Karikari an employee of the DPF Micro Finance at Osu for misappropriating GHC 21,896 belonging to his employers.

The bail was in the sum of GH¢ 22,000.00 with two sureties.

Theophilus pleaded not guilty to the charge and is to reappear on June 11.

Prosecuting, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Man-Anit Sampana told the Court presided over by Mr Emmanuel Essandoh that Theophilus offered daily susu services to customers of the DPF Micro Finance, located at Osu in Accra.

He explained that between November 1 and 13, 2017, Theophilus failed to render accounts to his employers and during auditing.

DSP Sampana said the accused told his employers that he had used the money to “solve his personal problem”, but the company found his behaviour unacceptable and made a complaint to the police.

He was then arrested, and during the investigation, he admitted the offence.

Theophilus has since refunded GH¢ 2,000 but was arraigned after the investigation.
