Swarm of bees sting man to death

A swarm of bees stung a man, Opayin Yaw Botwe, 84, alias O.K. Boye, of Nsawam, to death last Monday.

Abusuapanyin Kwadjo Awuku, spokesman for the family, told the Ghana News Agency that the deceased returned home from a friend’s funeral at about 1430 hours and took a rest on a bench in the house.


He said all of sudden a swarm of bees attacked Opayin Botwe and stung him all over the body.

The spokesman said Opayin Botwe was rushed to the Nsawam Government Hospital but was later pronounced dead.


When the GNA contacted the Nsawam Police, Superintendent Kamkam Boadu, Commander, confirmed the death and said investigation was ongoing.
