Prophet T.B. Joshua, the Nigerian pastor who claimed to have solidly fasted and prayed for Professor John Evans Atta Mills to win the 2008 presidential elections to wrestle power from the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has had his church, The Church of All Nations, uprooted from its original premises on the Spintex road, which is close to the Papaye restaurant, in Accra.
The sacking of the man of God and his entire church from its original place follows a court order slapped on them by an Accra High Court to vacate the premises after they lost a long-standing dispute over the land in court.
So far, the name of the church on the walls of its former premises has been covered entirely with a tapeline, as a sign of showing that they no longer worship there, while a miniature sign board has been placed at Manet junction, as a direction to their new place of worship.
T.B Joshua hit the headlines when President John Evans Atta Mills went to his church in Nigeria in the early days of his presidency to thank the prophet for helping him to win the 2008 presidential elections to become the president of the Republic of Ghana.
Just after that the Nigeria pastor became an idol to His Excellency President John Evans Atta Mills. He is alleged to have become a frequent visitor to the Castle, Osu, periodically to say prayers for the president.
Following his alleged frequent visit to the Castle, T.B Joshua became so powerful at the presidency so much so that any time he visited Ghana he rode about town with a presidential motorcade-escort, which led to the founder of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), Jerry John Rawlings lambasting President Mills, apparently for ignoring him and taking the advice of T.B. Joshua.
The man of God also incurred the wrath of many Ghanaians in the latter part of last year when he claimed credit for Ghana’s Black Satellites’ success at the under-twenty World Youth tournament hosted by Egypt. b
