TEDxAccra 2015, an idea sharing platform for thinkers and doers, has been launched in Accra.
The event dubbed: "The Next Chapter," which would take place at the National Theatre on April 11, 2015, is set to thrill the audience.
Mr Emmanuel Leslie Addae, Curator, said participants would take part in a TED-like experience that would ultimately equip and inspire them into boundless possibilities.
He said speakers had been selected from distinguished nomination lists from within and outside Ghana to deliver inspirational talks, performances, innovative creations as well as better ways of serving societal and business needs.
"The objective is that through each and every presentation and performances, the audiences are encouraged and inspired to move to their own personal next chapter," he said.
He said the event, which would be an annual show, would reflect on ideas and inspire thinking of a new generation of African thinkers and leaders among others.
Mr Addae said this year's event sought to develop and leverage the TED experience at the community level, bringing together innovative thinkers to connect and discuss great ideas.
He said last year, the event was organised under its previous name TEDxLabone, which evolved to TEDxAccra and focused on informing, empowering and educating, with speakers including Ms Hannah Tetteh, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, formerly of Joy FM and Ms Eva Lokko, Gender Activist sharing their ideas.
TED, founded in 1984, is a global set of conferences run by the private non-profit Foundation, under the slogan "ideas worth spreading."
