The University of Ghana wing of the Tertiary Education Institutions Network (TEIN-LEGON) has expressed 'strong' displeasure over the delay in the disbursement of the student’s loan for the 2018/2019 academic year.

According to TEIN-LEGON, Fund managers have in recent times, failed in the fulfilment of their part of the contractual obligation to pay eligible students their loan amount two weeks after the beginning of each semester relative to the terms and agreement.

After several follow-ups, the statement concluded, “Our quest to seek more credible answers on the subject revealed the challenge in respect to the current delays in the payment of the students loan is largely on account of the inability of the Government of Ghana to promptly release monies to Fund managers for onward payment to students”.

TEIN-LEGON has thus given a one-week ultimatum to government and the Loan Fund to address and settle all loan payments due each student.
