TIMES EDITOR, MD FACE WRATH OF WORKERS (Ghanaian Voice )

Sat, 31 May 1997 Source: --

With its fortunes fast dwindling, workers of one of the two daily newspapers in the country, THE GHANAIAN TIMES, are making desperate moves to redress the administrative lapses of the Corporation. The first of such hardline stance is directed at the paper's editor - Mr. Christian Deklu Aggrey, the longest serving editor in Ghana. Mr. Aggrey had since the days of SMC II in 1978 been the editor of the Times. The next salvo is directed towards the Managing Director of the Corporation, Mr. George Aryee, whom the workers have criticized for allegedly enriching himself with the company's meagre resources. The workers are meeting today to formalize their misgivings through a Memo to be sent to the board of Directors of the Corporation. This would be the second time within the last three weeks that that the workers would be petitioning the board on virtually the same issues
