TV3’s ‘Street Sex’ documentary gets Cabinet’s attention

Minister for Railway Development, Joe Ghartey says TV3’s documentary on ‘The Street Sex’ would be presented to cabinet for consideration.

The minister made this announcement when a delegation from TV3 led by the Poduction Manager, Gabriel Bosompem presented a copy of the documentary to him.

On December 21, 2017, TV3 aired its exclusive news documentary about young girls illegally soliciting for sex at slum along the rail lines near the Kwame Nkrumah interchange.

The slum which serves as a habitat for some suspected robbers has been a hub for all sort of illegal activities.

Both expectant and nursing mothers engage in prostitution at the slum with Nigerian nationals dominating the sex work business.

Officers from the Ghana Water and Electricity Company Of Ghana are afraid to go and demand bills for the inhabitants for fear of possible attack.

Some of the sex workers claimed officials of the Accra Metropolitan Assembly and the Ghana Railway Company collect bribes from them to aid their stay.

Mr. Joe Ghartey who was enthused about the exposé said he will engage cabinet on the fate of the Kwame Nkrumah Interchange area sex workers dwell.

He said the ministry has plans to clear all slums along the rail lines in the country.
