Tamale Central Constituency seat for performing personalities

The election of parliamentary candidates is crucial in the stability of every party’s development and serves as the platform to win elections to form a government.

As such, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) would on November 21, organise nationwide primaries to elect parliamentary candidates for Election 2016.

The successful candidates at the primaries would be presented to the Electoral Commission to represent the party in the 2016 Parliamentary Election.

The candidature of President John Dramani Mahama as flag bearer of the NDC for the 2016 Presidential Election is also expected to be endorsed by the delegates on November 21.

Delegates of the NDC are expected to take wise decisions that would ensure internal peace and unity for the ultimate bright electoral prospects of the party.

This was amply demonstrated by party delegates during the last national delegates' congress held in Kumasi, the Ashanti Regional Capital where self-acclaimed ‘loyalists’ were swept aside and replaced with perceived party ‘adversaries’.

This is why the results of the NDC pending parliamentary primary in the Tamale Central Constituency should not be a surprise to the party members if Mr Ibrahim Seidu (Engineer) is declared the winner.

As a matter of fact, such monumental electoral tsunami is waiting to erupt in the Tamale Central Constituency.

Delegates who are at the very bottom of the NDC official structure and constantly and directly in touch with the masses and also know which direction the party must go, would deliver the electoral results on the day of the primary for unity, competence, loyalty, dedication, selflessness and electoral success of the party.

In effect, the delegates are determined never to vote for candidates who do not possess any of these afore-mentioned qualities, but, only pride themselves in a flimsy charade of being so-called ardent loyalists of the President and party’s flagbearer yet to be.

Reasons to vote Mr Ibrahim Seidu as Parliamentary Candidate

Mr Seidu is a dedicated personality who cares about the life and welfare of people irrespective of their ethnic, political, social and religious background.

He is a candidate who has been truthful and sincere to the constituents and does not give gargantuan promises to voters that he knows he cannot fulfill.

Mr Seidu has an appealing personality and charisma, which reflects the image and impression of the constituency and the natives who would be voting for him.

It is imperative to have a Member of Parliament with positive attributes like Mr Seidu who is to pursue a vision that would transform the education, economic, social, political and religious fortunes of the Constituency in building and advancing a better Ghana Agenda.

Mr Seidu is submissive and respectful to the custodians of the lands and culture, the Chieftaincy institution and the religious authorities.

He is energetic, hardworking and believes in the youth empowerment and development and has promised to establish a youth empowerment fund.

He is decisive, assertive, pragmatic and proactive rather than reactive.

Mr Seidu’s contribution to the Tamale Central Constituency

He organised and funded the establishment of free remedial classes for SHS students in the Tamale Central Constituency at various centers including; Sakasaka JHS, Choggu Demonstration JHS, St Peter JHS and Lamashegu Primary for 2013/2015 and 2014/2015 years.

Mr Seidu supported various youth groups with more than 200 plastic chairs some of which includes Al-Keda, Treasurer both located within Tishegu and Changli.

He donated 100 wooden benches to various groups in the Tamale Central Constituency. Some of the groups include; Addichi women group-Moshe Zongo, Maltiti Youth-Changli, NDC Youth for Peace and Development-Lamakara, Maltiti Women Group-Manhalia and Gnyeri Odini Youth Association, Scientific Ladies.

He organised buses for various youth groups towards the 8th national delegates’ congress in Kumasi and supported in cash some constituency executives toward the holding of the delegates’ congress.

Mr Seidu facilitated the construction of boreholes for the Ahmaddiya JHS and Primary Schools.

He singled handedly gravelled the Regional Party Head Office in Tamale, donated to the Regional Secretariat a Flat Screen TV and Multi TV and participated in various party congresses in the country.

Profile:

Mr Ibrahim Seidu is a native of the Tamale Central Constituency who was born on August 21, 1962.

He attended Sakasaka Primary in 1968 -74 and Tamale Secondary School for Ordinary Level (O’ level) Certificate from 1974-79 and Advance Level Certificate from 1979-81.

Mr Seidu proceeded to the Kiev State Civil Engineering Institute, Ukraine to acquire an Msc Civil Engineering in 1982.

He also pursue some short courses including Project Management, Road Sector Reforms, Road Financing, Road Safety, Road Maintenance Management, Contract Administration and Management, Infrastructural Development and Planning for Civil Engineering and Strategic Management Course.

Mr Seidu in 1989 to 1991 worked at the Kiev State Construction Company as Assistant Engineer, 1991 to 1993 Ghana Standards Board as Scientific Officer / Civil Engineer, 1993 to 96 Ghana Telecom as Outside Plant Engineer, 1996 to 98 Assistant Engineer (Ashanti Region) and 1999 to 2002 Maintenance Engineer (Greater Accra Region).

He has also worked as Senior Maintenance Engineer at the Feeder Roads Head Office from 2002 to 2006 and the Upper West and Greater Accra Regional Manager from 2006 to 2009, Deputy Director of Ghana Road Fund Secretariat from 2009 to May 2015, and May 2015 to date Ministry of Roads and Highways (Department of Feeder Roads - Head Office) as Chief Engineer.

Mr Seidu is married and blessed with children.
