The Ho Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Mr. Nelson Johnson Akorli, has performed the ceremony to mark the start of the construction of a six-unit classroom block for the Tanyigbe-Anyigbe M/A Primary School.

On completion, it would have an office, library, store and washroom and it the brainchild of the Member of Parliament (MP), Benjamin Kpodo.

The project would cost GHC500,000.00 and expected to be ready in nine months.

The MP is funding it from his share of the District Assembly Common Fund (DACF) alongside contributions from individuals and benevolent institutions.

Mr. Kpodo announced that a three-unit classroom donated by the Council of Ewe Associations in North America (CEANA) would be converted into a Junior High School (JHS) to end the situation where children in the community had been walking three kilometres to the next town.

He reminded parents that quality basic education required that they provided their children with supplementary learning materials and supervised them to do their homework.

The MP had already constructed a similar facility for the Ho Nurses Training College.

Mr. Akorli advised the children to work hard on their books and said that was the path to success.
