Tarzan's "Security Alert" Birthday Bash

Fri, 21 Mar 2003 Source: Ghanaian Chronicle

The Bullying Chief Executive of the Volta River Authority (VRA), Charles Wereko Brobbey circulated a memo that he was taking a day off and slipped off to celebrate his 50th Birthday last Friday at what turned out to be the most guarded birthday parties in the country.
Armed police personnel wielding batons, were seen guarding Tarzan’s official Switchback Road residence at Cantonments in Accra. A number of private security personnel complemented the police presence around the house.
The ''Ghanaian Chronicle'' says its reporters were turned away after serious interrogations by these security personnel. Apparently, they had been instructed by Dr Charles Wereko Brobbey to turn away anybody suspected to be an intruder from Chronicle because of some recent publications about him and some of the top echelons of VRA.

''Chronicle'' however managed to infiltrate using moles. The first half of the party begun on Friday morning when traditional foods such as ''eto'' and drinks were served to the family members including the mother of his new ''internal affair'' from Nsawam.

But the irony of the whole show was that his wedded wife, Mrs Joyce Wereko-Brobbey was missing in action.

The second half of the party took off in a splendid way in the evening when about a thousand guests were entertained. The whole atmosphere was charged by one of the most popular songs ''Apushkeleke'' which was requested by Tarzan himself who danced as guests responded ''Tarzan, Tarzan''.

Alongside this, hired comedians from Nigeria also entertained the guests.
